Las Vegas, NV—Canon introduced the Selphy CP1200 wireless compact photo printer with on-the-go-printing features. These include a direct-attachable battery that is sold separately. The battery has the capacity to print 54 photos per charge. Additionally, the printer’s Wi-Fi button simplifies the printing process with more intuitive operation.

The CP1200 includes crafty features to aid in creating photo keepsakes and souvenirs. These include a 2.7-inch, tilt-up LCD to view, select and edit images computer-free. With card-size printing options, users can create pass cases, messages and decorated albums, with the option of adding white or black borders to the layout. They can also print postage-stamp-size sheets with eight thumbnails or a combination of images.

Other functionality, such as borderless printing and image optimization, can be adjusted on the printer itself or via a compatible mobile or tablet device.

The printer is engineered to provide accurate color reproduction, due to the use of dye sublimation technology. It also provides a water-resistant coating Canon says will help photos last up to 100 years.

“The updated wireless and inventive feature sets enhance the flexibility and portability that Selphy printer users love,” said Yuichi Ishizuka, president and COO, Canon USA, Inc. “Canon believes that ease of use and creative availability should go hand-in-hand with high-quality photo printing, so we are excited to offer a greater level of editing functionality and print options.” Canon-CP1200-White-4

Selphy Connectivity

The Selphy CP1200 printer utilizes a variety of connection preferences, including SD cards, Wi-Fi, USB memory and USB cords. It can directly connect to a Wi-Fi network without the use of drivers to print images from a user’s camera roll via the Canon Print app.

The printer also supports Apple AirPrint wireless technology. This enables users to print photos, e-mail, web pages and documents wirelessly from iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. And there is no need to install device drivers. In addition to this model, Canon announced Pixma printer models that are now compatible with AirPrint wireless technology.
