aCommack, NY—Tamron USA’s Mobile Learning Center Tour began April 14, 2016 in Fairfield, New Jersey, and will make more than 70 stops at authorized Tamron retailers nationwide. The new, fully equipped and customized Tamron vehicle will travel around the U.S. through December 2016.

The Tamron Tailgate Tour, launched in 2013, took a casual, fun approach to photography education by offering free access to information to anyone interested in photography. The 2016 Mobile Learning Center moves the concept beyond sessions held in photo retailer parking lots by also integrating live shoots thematically tied into each free seminar.

Tamron upped its game with the 2016 tour. In addition to providing attendees with free 45-minute seminars, live shooting opportunities will also be offered. At the shoots, participants will practice techniques learned at the seminars using Tamron lenses. However, several tour stops will follow a different model, providing a traditional seminar followed by next-day, in-the-field shooting at a cost for attendees.

Free Hands-On Photographic Instruction

The Tamron Mobile Learning Center will work with local photo retailers to deliver a unique learning experience. The Tamron vehicle will pull into a retailer’s parking lot and set up for a full day of education. Attendees will be able to ask questions about their photography, see the latest Tamron products, and learn valuable tips as well as tricks on capturing their favorite subjects.

Each day features team members leading free seminars under the Tamron Mobile Learning Tent. The seminars will include “Travel & Nature Techniques,” “The Art of Macro” and “Light Like a Pro.” Furthermore, participants are encouraged to bring their cameras so that after each seminar they can use Tamron lenses to capture various subjects. These will include: birds of prey or other animals brought by local conservationists and sanctuaries that offer educational outreach to better understand wildlife; small objects selected to provide attendees with interesting subjects for macro imagery; and also models posing in several lighting conditions to obtain a better grasp of shooting under various types of light. There is no need to register at most locations, and all seminars and shoots are free for attendees.

Seminars and Learning Field Trips

Starting this summer, select Tamron retailers will host an evening seminar followed the next day with an in-the-field shoot. Tamron lenses will be loaned and on-location instruction will be provided. The cost for these 1½-day events varies and seating will be limited.

Additionally, the Tamron Mobile Learning Center will make stops at four National Parks. The visited parks are Rocky Mountain, Yellowstone, Zion and Acadia. Tamron will do this in association with National Park Trips. At these stops, Tamron will host an overnight campout and a Night Skies photography workshop. The workshop will be led by Tamron Image Masters Ken Hubbard as well as André Costantini. The campouts are limited to 25 participants and registration details are available at nationalparktrips.com/photo-workshops.

Win a Tamron Lens and Get Lens Discounts

At each tour stop, Tamron will randomly give away prizes after each seminar and also offer discounts on Tamron lenses. In addition to gaining valuable insight from the Tamron tech team of photographers, visitors will also see the latest Tamron products. In addition, they will be eligible to enter a drawing to win any Tamron lens of their choice.

Tamron will give away three lenses with this tour. The first giveaway on July 15 will be drawn from eligible surveys completed April 14 through June 30. On October 15 it will be drawn from eligible surveys completed July 1 through September 30. Finally, on January 15, 2017 it will be selected from eligible surveys completed October 1 through December 31.
