New York, NY—Hasselblad announced the appointment of Pär Heyden as its new global creative director, effective immediately. Heyden brings nearly twenty years of experience to his new role, including tenures at Volvo and Semcon.

As the global creative director for Hasselblad, Heyden will be responsible for product design as well as brand execution for market communication and further developing the Hasselblad brand together with the marketing team.

Heyden is well versed at building brands and strengthening market position through innovative strategies—skills Hasselblad believes he will bring to bear in his newly appointed role.

Heyden previously held the position of brand design director for Volvo Cars, where he was responsible for the design strategy of the Volvo Lifestyle collection and was instrumental in developing the brand positioning. At Volvo, he also served as the creative lead who spearheaded the evolution of the Volvo brand through images, IMs, events and other initiatives.

Founded in 1941, Hasselblad is a manufacturer of medium-format cameras and lenses. Handmade in Sweden, Hasselblad cameras are known for their ergonomic design, Swedish craftsmanship and high performance. For more than half a century, Hasselblad cameras have captured some of the world’s most iconic images—including the first landing on the moon.
