PNY Technologies has made a few interesting recent announcements including their corporate sponsorship of the White House News Photographers Association (WHNPA). As part of the relationship, PNY was recently named a participating sponsor of the 2008 “The Eyes of History” contest, which annually recognizes the finest photojournalists for the best images of the President, political leaders and major news stories.

During PMA this week, PNY will feature WHNPA member and award-winning photographer, Chris Usher, who will speak daily at the PNY booth (# G231) at 1:30 p.m.  Usher will take booth visitors on a visual journey and explain how he’s been able to, “capture the moment” through his years of covering presidential campaigns.

“PNY is committed to the photojournalism community through its support of the WHPNA,” said Tony Gomez, vice president of sales and marketing for PNY. “And, its members are at the forefront of video and photographic technology. Our support helps the association provide professional and educational outreach to its members through its scholarships, programming, an annual competition, and a celebration of the industry at the annual Eyes of History Gala.”

On May 10 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Washington, the annual “Eyes of History” Gala celebrates all the winning photojournalists and the President of the United States.  PNY is among the event’s featured sponsors. Nearly 1,000 guests, including government dignitaries, industry celebrities, and the President will attend.

PNY was also recently named a Mission Partner of the National Geographic Society and the “Flash Memory of Choice” of the Emerging Explorers Program through 2010.  National Geographic Mission Partners are a select group of corporate partners whose business practices align with the Society’s mission of inspiring people to care about the planet. PNY will help by creating awareness for the program as well as fund the explorers’ research and expeditions. For more information, please visit www.pny.com/EmergingExplorers
