Circuit City has reached an agreement with TARGUSinfo to use that company’s On-Demand Verification system to limit credit card fraud and other financial crime.
The company had earlier used TARGUSinfo as a part of its manual process for agents’ order reviews.
“With our Web and call-center sales increasing, we need to move a lot more transactions with the same staff,” Circuit City’s senior manager for payments and fraud, Margy Hazelton, said as part of the announcement. “On-Demand Verification services let us confidently and automatically process authentic transactions, leaving us a clearer view of the potentially fraudulent ones.”
