In an effort to provide counsel in regard to international issues affecting its members, the Consumer Electronics Association on Monday announced the formation of a new International Advisory Committee.

The goal of the committee, according to the group’s international vice president Elizabeth Hyman, is put CEA “in a better position to address international issues confronting the U.S. consumer electronics industry.” These issues principally relate to free trade, and worldwide growth of the industry.

The committee includes 14 members, and one more will be added. Sony Electronics, Panasonic Corp., Philips, Monster Cable, Harman Consumer Group and numerous other giants of the industry are represented on the committee.
