Las Vegas, NV—At CES 2020, Western Digital Corporation is showcasing new innovations in its lineup of storage solutions for every consumer use. Included is a demonstration of a high-capacity, pocket-size, portable SSD prototype. Moreover, the SSD features a SuperSpeed USB 20Gbps interface. The company is also releasing the 1-terabyte (TB) SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe USB Type-C drive.
In addition, at CES 2020, Western Digital is exhibiting its consumer storage solutions from its G-Technology, SanDisk, WD and Western Digital brands. Highlights follow.
SanDisk 8TB SSD Prototype
Inspired by consumers’ desire to capture rich content and keep it with them, Western Digital is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with an 8TB SSD prototype. The prototype SSD combines the company’s expertise in flash memory with its proprietary design.
SanDisk 1TB Ultra Dual Drive Luxe USB Type-C
Launching at CES, the SanDisk brand released its newest dual connector drive. The device allows consumers to capture more photos and videos. The drive works with the latest USB Type-C smartphones as well as laptops.
The all-metal, high-capacity drive allows consumers to easily transfer photo and video content between USB Type-C smartphones, tablets and laptops as well as USB Type-A computers. Moreover, able to fit on a keychain, the drive offers impressive space in a tiny form factor, so consumers have extra storage for content whenever they need it. Further, the drive has a swivel design to protect its connectors.
In addition, using the SanDisk Memory zone app, the drive will automatically back up consumers’ latest photos, videos, music, documents.
Already available in capacities ranging from 32GB to 512GB, the new 1TB SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe USB Type-C will reach retail later this calendar quarter. It will sell for $249.99.
SanDisk ibi Photo/Video Management Device
Ibi is a smart photo management device from SanDisk that offers consumers local storage; the device works like a personal cloud for photos and videos. Features include a companion app that enables consumers to wirelessly connect their phone for automatic backup to seamlessly collect, organize and privately share their photos and videos.
In addition, ibi has the ability to aggregate content from various locations. These include laptops, USB drives, social media and cloud accounts. They are all stored on ibi and viewable in the app. Moreover, the device’s 1TB of storage can handle up to 250,000 photos or 100 hours of video.

WD_Black P50 Game Drive SSD with SuperSpeed USB 20Gbps
Also on display is the WD_Black portfolio. It provides the capacity to allow PC and console gamers to drive their game and play without limits. Five gaming solutions from the WD_Black lineup are on display, including the WD_Black P50 Game Drive SSD with a SuperSpeed USB 20Gbps interface.
Two Xbox-licensed drives include the WD_Black P10 Game Drive for Xbox One; and the WD_Black D10 Game Drive for Xbox One. These two drives, now available, come with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate trial membership.
