Newbury Park, CA—The new RePlay XD720 is designed to make capturing action-packed HD Video easier and more affordable than before. Less than a year after launching the small, lightweight XD1080 HD action sports camera, the engineers at RePlay XD have created a smaller, lighter camera with an easy-to-use consumer-friendly interface.
The XD720 captures 720p HD video at 30/60 frames per second for high-speed action. The system features a non-fisheye, non-distorted 120º field-of-view lens, a 5 megapixel image sensor, pro-level audio, an external audio line-in and compatibility with all the RePlay XD Pro mounts and accessories. Plus, a “quick-clip” function allows editing in the field.
“The XD720 has simple controls and a compact design perfect for everyone from first-time shooters to athletes that need a compact, lightweight way to capture the action,” said John Spar, president of RePlay XD. “This camera includes the pro-level optics and audio packed similar to that in our XD1080 model but in a smaller package at an incredible price. To make the RePlay XD720 an easy-to-use POV (point of view) camera, there’s a switch on the back that users flip to select frame rate and audio input options. The power and record buttons require one touch, with specific vibration feedback and indicator lights for each command.
In addition to the camera’s onboard mic, the Replay XD720 has a secondary audio input that lets users feed audio from their own source, such as race radios, LAV mics and iPods.
The 2-ounce camera is about the size of a tube of lip balm and features a water-resistant aluminum housing built to withstand everything from extreme sports to hardcore motor sports. The camera records up to 130 minutes of video on a single charge of its Li-Ion battery, and it includes supports up to 32GB microSD cards.
