Sakar International Launches Polaroid-Brand Digital Cameras

Edison, NJ—Consumer electronics manufacturer Sakar International launched a line of Polaroid-branded digital still cameras under an exclusive licensing agreement. Sakar unveiled the new products at photokina, which will feature Polaroid optics technology with user-friendly features to capture memories of outdoor, sporting or casual adventures.

The products initially debuted at Sears and Kmart stores but will be available shortly for wider distribution.

“The Polaroid brand is synonymous with high-quality imaging products that are easy to use and that make recording life’s precious moments a snap,” said Jeff Saka, Sakar’s president. “This is a great opportunity for us to leverage our broad distribution channels and expand our product portfolio with a very well-regarded brand and innovative product family.”

The first installment of Polaroid products to hit store shelves includes:

Polaroid iF045. The first Polaroid waterproof, dual-view camera, it features front- and rear-facing LCD displays, a 5x digital zoom and 14.1 megapixels. The iF045 is waterproof up to 10 feet. $99.99.

Polaroid iS2132.
This DSLR-style bridge camera is designed to combine the features and image quality of a digital SLR with the ease of a point and shoot. It offers an ultra-wide-angle 25mm lens with 21x enhanced definition optical zoom, 16.1 megapixels, panoramic shooting, HD video recording with the touch of a button, a built-in pop-up flash, face autoexposure and blink detection. $199.99.

Polaroid iS750. This Wi-Fi enabled camera has a 5x optical zoom to capture panoramic still shots and HD-quality video. Users can upload the photos and video to the web via its built-in Wi-Fi function. It also features a 3.0-inch touch LCD display, 16 megapixels and auto scene and blink detection with automatic face exposure. $179.99.
