“We are excited to introduce the XF10 as a premium, ultralightweight compact camera that delivers high-quality images as well as new features in a body small enough to travel with. And it possesses functionality to instantly transfer images to your phone to share,” said Yuji Igarashi, general manager of the Imaging Division & Optical Devices Division at Fujifilm North America Corporation.

Boasting wide dynamic range, the XF10 employs Fujifilm’s proprietary color reproduction technology and a 24.2 megapixel APS-C-sized CMOS image sensor. In addition, both 4K movie and Full HD high-speed video capabilities are available on the XF10.

Furthermore, the XF10 is the first X-series camera to offer the new “square mode.” This mode permits users to switch to a 1:1 format with a single flick of the touch screen. Combined with a method for transferring images to a smartphone, the camera enhances compatibility with social media’s popular 1:1 image format for posting photos. For content transfer, the camera utilizes Bluetooth 4.1 low-energy technology.

Fujifilm XF10 Key Features

To capture a range of subjects, the camera’s 28mm-equivalent lens (in the 35mm format) uses a digital teleconverter function to take photos with equivalent focal lengths of 35mm and 50mm. In addition, to enhance creativity, the XF10 offers 11 Fujifilm film simulations and 19 advanced filters.

The camera also introduces two new filters—rich & fine and monochrome (NIR)—to add artistic flair or film-like color tones to photos. The rich & fine filter provides brighter, more vivid color at the center of the image. It also adds a slight shadow at the corners to emphasize the subject, which is perfect for tabletop photography. In addition, the monochrome filter simulates a monochrome effect as taken by near-infrared cameras.
