Jackson, MI—The loss of precious photos from accidental deletion or memory card corruption or even stolen cameraphones was the topic of discussion at a recent PMA Retail business development forum.

It was agreed that there is now a real danger for families and individuals who don’t make prints or manage their electronic images to find themselves without any photo history. The answer to this digital dilemma is the driving force behind a new PMA promotional campaign—“Print It or Lose It: The only way to guarantee your digital photo will last a lifetime is to PRINT IT.”

By way of illustration, Danny Williams of Swains’ spoke of the original historic Domesday book, which was created on paper in 1086 and is still readable today more than 900 years later. However, a 1986 CD version containing maps, pictures and video is no longer readable. “We need to shock people into realizing that their heritage is not preserved electronically,” he said.

Print It or Lose It promotional posters and point-of-sale material will soon be available on the PMA UK website: pmai.org/uk.
