It incorporates cost-saving benefits such as low-ink consumption through economy printing mode, where color density is reduced to cut ink consumption by 50% compared to standard mode. And large ink tanks are available to help contribute to a lower cost of operation. The Canon printer driver also provides a free layout (nesting) feature, allowing for jobs to be placed on one sheet of media.
The printers also offer efficiency and ease-of-use features. In fast-printing mode, they print an A1/D-size poster on coated paper in one minute. They have a small footprint, and hot-swap ink tanks allow inks to be changed while a job is in progress. Canon’s six-color ink system utilizes Lucia EX ink to help achieve the vibrant color required for retail posters. Featuring traditional cyan, magenta, yellow, black and matte black inks, along with red, users can expand the color gamut beyond the imagePrograf eight-colors in the yellow to red regions. Additionally, the Lucia EX pigment ink system helps produce durable colors and scratch resistance.
The series includes several workflow solutions. PosterArtist Lite is designed for the fast poster creation. Retailers can use pre-designed templates, royalty-free images, clipart, backgrounds, frames, text graphics, an image correction function that automatically corrects colors, and a cutout function to remove selected areas of an image.
