Torrance, CA—Pelican Products, a designer and manufacturer of high-performance protective case solutions and advanced portable lighting systems, appointed presidents for its newly structured Consumer and Commercial and Government divisions.
Bob Shortt was named president of Pelican’s Consumer Division, which includes the Pelican ProGear product line. Stephan Corti will lead its traditional Commercial (Industrial, Fire Safety, Law Enforcement) and Government Division.
Shortt will oversee all aspects of Pelican’s Consumer Division with a heavy emphasis on sales, marketing and business development. He will concentrate on the Pelican ProGear product line and also traditional cases and lighting products. These products are for photography, sporting goods, consumer electronic devices, and the dive market.
“As president of our newly formed Consumer Division, Bob’s industry insight, consumer experience and knowledge of customer needs will look to grow and expand on our already well-received lines of mobile electronics protection, luggage, coolers and lighting products,” said Lyndon Faulkner, president and CEO, Pelican Products.
Shortt has more than 30 years of sales, product management and marketing experience. He comes to Pelican from Targus Inc. At Targus he oversaw its entry into the tablet case market. He also managed its exclusive global supply relationship with Dell. He previously worked at Black & Decker (Kwikset and Price Pfister divisions), CSK Auto (Kragen, Checkers and Shucks brands) and Waterpik Technologies.
Corti brings more than 20 years of international sales and marketing management experience to his new role. Prior to his promotion, he served as senior vice president of Worldwide Sales for Pelican. Before joining Pelican he was Technicolor’s senior vice president of Worldwide Sales and Marketing.
Additionally, his experience includes several executive sales positions with international companies, including Nimbus, Allied Signal and HILTI.
“Stephan is a customer-centric executive with a keen eye for delivering what’s needed in the traditional markets we serve,” added Faulkner. “He is a seasoned leader that understands our diverse customer base and supporting dealer network. I look forward to seeing new business initiatives and ground breaking new products and services that he and his team will bring to the market in the coming months.” pelican.com
