Melville, NY—Nikon’s Coolpix W100 is a waterproof, shockproof point-and-shoot camera designed for worry-free use by the entire family.
Large buttons as well as intelligent auto features enable novice photographers to capture quality images and Full HD video. The W100 also supports SnapBridge for easy sharing.
The rugged camera is dustproof, waterproof to 33 feet, shockproof to withstand falls from nearly 6 feet and freezeproof to 14°F. It has 13.2 megapixels and a 3x optical zoom Nikkor lens. In addition, a dynamic fine zoom function is said to achieve 6x zoom without loss of quality.
The W100 offers functions to make capturing photos easy. Its underwater face framing function automatically photographs human faces when it’s in the water. Target finding AF enables it to detect and focus on the primary subject. Additionally, an “add light trails” mode captures light trails made by stars or airplanes.
Users can express themselves with effects and frames that can be added while shooting. Or they can change colors and apply effects after capture. New creative options are included: captured images can be decorated with hearts, stars or other stamps using the stamp function. An add cartoon effects function makes images look like a comic panel.
Photographers can use the camera’s SnapBridge with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology—as well as Wi-Fi and NFC—to connect the camera and a smart device. Photos and video can then be automatically transferred to the device. Using SnapBridge, an unlimited number of thumbnails can be automatically uploaded from the smart device to Nikon’s photo-sharing service, Nikon Image Space.
