The mirrorless, interchangeable-lens camera features Bluetooth connectivity and a simple app interface. It’s designed to offer “the power and features of a professional camera with the ease and connectivity of a smartphone.”

“With the launch of the YI M1, we are aiming to reenergize professional-quality photography by making it accessible and simple to use for the average person or amateur photographer,” said Sean Da, CEO and cofounder of YI Technology. “Our mission is to bring top-of-the-line technology to professionals and beginners alike. And in a simple, easy-to-use form, and the YI M1 is no exception.”

The mirrorless captures 20 megapixel still images as well as 4K video at 30 frames per second. It employs the latest Sony IMX269 image sensor and supports ISO settings up to 25,600, as well as 2,000MP and wide dynamic range video, according to specs.

Additional M1 Features

Inspired by the ease of smartphone sharing, YI’s camera was designed to enable photographers of any level, from beginner to professional, to capture and share video and images. It has a 3-inch, touch-screen LCD, as well as intuitive menus and controls.

“The lightweight and compact design means the user can focus more on shooting and less on heavy equipment,” added Da. In addition, a “master guide” function in the accompanying YI M1 app permits users to access photography templates, composition guidelines and step-by-step instructions.  yi-logo
