The largest-ever Wal*Mart Supercenter location in the United States is set to open in upstate New York, the AP reported Thursday.
The two-level store, measuring 260,000 square feet, is 25 percent larger than the average size of a Wal*Mart Supercenter, and is the remnant of a since-shuttered Sam’s Club warehouse location outside Albany. Despite its size, the company told the AP, the new store will not be appreciably different from most Supercenters.
The store is set to open in May. Its construction had been going on for over a year, but it was kept relatively quiet and not announced in the news media until this week.
