Fujifilm Will Increase Pricing of Photographic Paper

Valhalla, NY—Fujifilm North America Corporation announced it will implement price increases for its silver halide photographic materials and photo chemicals in the U.S. beginning March 1, 2013. The price increases are due to declines in volume, rising costs in raw materials and logistics. Prices will increase by up to 10% depending on individual products.

This decision follows the recent announcement by Shigehiro Nakajima, president of Fujifilm Corporation, that the company will implement a worldwide price increase of its photographic papers beginning in February 2013.

“To sustain its Photo Imaging business, Fujifilm has been undertaking intensive structural reforms for productivity improvement and cost reduction,” said Nakajima. “However, due to the recent soaring costs of materials and ongoing decrease of gross demands for photographic papers, the company has been forced to increase the prices of [these] products.” fujifilmusa.com
