Manfrotto Intros 502 Professional Video Heads for Photographers & Videographers

2018

Ramsey, NJ—Manfrotto introduced the new 502 professional video heads into their family of products. The 502 heads are designed to provide videographers and photographers with the ideal camera support for the latest equipment and setups.

This 502 head series is available in two models: the MVH502A and the MVH502AH, both compatible with the latest digital video camcorders and hybrid DSLR cameras with medium/long lenses. The MVH502A is equipped with a 75mm ball base, while the MVH502AH comes with a flat base with 3/8-inch thread. The company says the 502 series is guaranteed to offer the “same dynamic performance” that Manfrotto products are known for, thanks to the brand’s patented bridge architecture.

“We are excited to introduce our new 502 heads,” said Wayne Schulman, National Sales & Product manager, Video, Manfrotto Distribution. “Manfrotto has always been proud of delivering the best value in camera supports and equipment to professionals around the world, and we continue to break new ground with the new 502 heads.”

The 502 heads are specifically designed to provide support for the latest camcorders and HD DSLRs, and can support up to 13.2 pounds of equipment. Made of aluminum they also come with a longer sliding plate to help ensure better camera balance for the videographer. The heads also feature a wider cross-section that is designed to comfortably fit the new designs of the latest cameras and camcorders and allow for easy access to the head’s secondary accessory connectors. Unwanted vibrations for pan and tilt movements have been reduced thanks to ball-bearing units as both heads feature a variable Fluid Drag System (FDS) with adjustable cartridges.

The 502 heads’ counterbalance system (CBS) was developed to ensure that their rotations are “fast and easy, allowing for more control no matter how the camera’s weight is distributed.” And a new quick-release button has been moved for better accessibility, while the pan bar can be attached to the left or right side of the head for a more comfortable grip.

Manfrotto’s 502 heads series is available now, with the MVH502A priced at $225 and the MVH502AH priced at $200. manfrotto.us
