To say it’s been a great month for new products is an understatement. In just the last five weeks or so, we’ve seen breakthrough professional DSLRs from Nikon and Canon; a new, highly anticipated full-frame camera from Ricoh/Pentax; the exciting Alpha a6300 mirrorless camera from Sony, along with their new G Master lens series; a new 360º camera from Samsung; a beautiful 20MP PEN-F mirrorless camera from Olympus; and stunning new lenses from Sigma and Tamron. These are all featured in this issue.

With Japan’s CP+ show just concluded, we may even see more new products coming into our stores in the near future.

New products are the lifeblood of any industry, and ours is no exception. With so many pundits suggesting the death knell of the camera industry, there is just no truth to it. Manufacturers are doubling down on our category, continuing to pump out new products and technologies to drive enthusiasts into our stores.

Here at Digital Imaging Reporter, it’s our job (maybe our duty) to keep you abreast of new products in the industry. Our article on long-zoom point-and-shoot cameras is another example of our writers putting these products into perspective. And you’ll also be seeing new stories on the drone business, as consumers flock to put cameras in the air at an alarming rate.

There are many ways to keep up on the latest news from the only trade publication focused exclusively on the imaging industry. Be sure to download the DIReporter app and stay tuned to DIReporter.com, our recently redesigned website that features the most complete, up-to-the-minute look at our industry.

Depend on us to keep you informed. It’s just what we do.
