San Mateo, CA—GoPro, maker of the popular Hero action cam series, introduced “GoPro Care: You Break It, We’ll Replace It.” The GoPro Care program will extend a consumer’s GoPro action cam warranty to a full two years, and it offers accident coverage with camera replacement anywhere in the world.

“While durability is a hallmark of our product, we also know that life happens and sometimes your GoPro is on the losing end of the deal,” the company’s blog stated. “That’s why we’re pumped to bring you new GoPro Care—a two-year program to cover damage to your GoPro cameras and deliver next-level customer support and expert GoPro consulting.”

GoProCare-w-HeroBlackConsumers who live in the U.S. can add GoPro Care to any camera within 60 days of purchase for a fee of $99.

With the program, they’ll receive access to GoPro’s experts to help master their cameras, via editing tips and tricks plus insider blogs and forums. They will also have a direct line to customer support without hold time, 24/7 chat and e-mail for any camera or software issue.

GoPro Care covers the camera, mount or accessory against accidental damage, and program participants are allowed up to two camera replacements, each subject to a service fee. The program does not cover lost cameras and is currently unavailable in Florida, Washington, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Oklahoma and Nevada.

Founded by Nicholas Woodman, GoPro set out to transform the way people visually capture and share their lives. What began as an idea to help extreme athletes self-document themselves while engaged in their sport, GoPro has become a standard for how consumers capture themselves participating in their interests, whatever they may be. The company offers a selection of diminutive action video cameras in its Hero line, including the high-end Hero4 Black, as well as a range of mounts and accessories. gopro.com
