Rochester, NY—Skooba Design’s new Laptop Weekender v3 is a hybrid carry-on bag designed to combine the protection and organization of a laptop/electronics case with the packing capacity of a travel duffel.

“We set out from the beginning to craft an exquisite piece of serious travel luggage and then build professional-grade technology storage around it,” said Michael Hess, Skooba’s CEO. “I like it because I can look like I’m actually on a relaxing weekend trip . . .  and still have all my gear at hand. It’s like a road warrior’s tech-cheater bag.”

The Weekender provides room for two days of clothing and travel necessities along with compartments for a laptop, iPad and full complement of portable electronics. It offers more than a dozen pockets and organizers surrounding a large main packing compartment. A 15-inch laptop stores in its own fast-access rear pocket, protected by Skooba’s Bumper Bar padding, and the front accessory section provides padded storage for a digital camera, phone, cables and accessories. One of the end pockets includes a padded sleeve for an iPad or e-reader, while the other has additional storage space for travel supplies. All compartments are fully lined and have double-zip closures.

Other features include: lightweight micro-ballistic nylon construction that’s water-repellant treated and reinforced at all stress points; Skooba’s patented Superbungee shock-absorbing shoulder strap; double handles with hypalon hand grips; grab handles at both ends; a trolley strap on the back of the bag that slides over a luggage handle; and a rubberized bottom for protection against moisture and abrasion. The bag weighs 42 ounces and fits into any standard airline overhead.

Skooba’s Laptop Weekender v3 ships in July with a suggested retail price of $179.95. skoobadesign.com
