Legion Paper recently announced that it has acquired Moab Paper Company, a manufacturer of archival digital papers, storage and display products. With the digital fine art market enjoying robust growth lately the merger of the two companies positions them well to take advantage of that growth. The companies stated that the acquisition will essentially form a new company tagged Moab by Legion Paper, “creating the most dynamic imaging company dedicated to the art of the digital fine print.”

“Combining the worldwide fine art paper expertise of Legion Paper with the digital imaging product and manufacturing experience of Moab Paper Company is a natural fit,” says Moab Paper Company president, Gregory Schern, who will head the new division with distribution moving to Legion Paper’s specialized warehouses in California and New Jersey. “The partnership enables Moab by Legion Paper to combine the strengths of both companies to offer the widest selection of high quality imaging solutions to professionals and photo enthusiasts alike.”

Legion Paper’s COO, Joshua Levine, was equally excited about the merger and the benefits it will provide to Legion’s customers. “With the completion of this acquisition, Legion Paper continues to solidify its position as the leader in the sales and distribution of the world’s finest papers. The new Moab Imaging division draws on the heritage and innovation of both companies enabling us to develop new products for the evolving needs of today’s demanding professionals,” said Levine. The transaction will be completed by end of 2006.
