Las Vegas, NV–Our first featured photographer of 2020 is Kasper Rajasuo. “I got into photography in 2018. I was visiting my cousin, who’s a photographer,” says Rajasuo. “He suggested we go into a nearby forest to take some photos; I gladly agreed. The way I saw him using his camera inspired me. When I got home, I started to learn about photography and cameras, and I’ve been passionate ever since.
“This photo was taken in Oulanka National Park in Kuusamo, Finland, during the autumn foliage. I woke up early to possibly see some morning fog, and the sun itself. Sometimes expectations don’t work out and you need to deal with the conditions you have at that moment.
“I’ve never been too selective on the gear I use. However, if I can choose, I shoot with Nikon cameras. I also love Sigma lenses; I use them 90% of the time.” Rajasuo took this photo with a Nikon D7000 DSLR and a 17–70mm f/2.8–4.0 lens: 17mm; 1/160 sec; f/3.2; ISO 320.
