New York, NY—Rokinon introduced a new line of XEEN CF professional cine lenses. Building on the value, features and performance of the XEEN by Rokinon system introduced in 2015, the new Rokinon XEEN CF professional cine lenses offer additional size, weight and feature benefits.

The company’s XEEN CF lenses reflect the trend toward more compact, lightweight and high-definition video equipment. Moreover, the full-frame cine lenses utilize carbon fiber rather than metal. The company sought to achieve “a sturdier, lighter, durable and more future-oriented design and appearance.”

In addition, the new cine lens line has an average weight of 2.1 pounds and length of 3.6 inches in the PL mount for the 24mm, 50mm and 85mm models. “They offer exceptional compatibility and flexible operation with equipment such as drones and gimbals,” the company announced.

Furthermore, XEEN CF lenses support the large image sensors and 8K capability of the latest cinema cameras. Their X-coating technology, optical design, bright T1.5 aperture and 11-blade diaphragm enable the lenses to create distinctive looks, enhance low-light performance and produce beautiful bokeh.

Additional new features are a smaller common front diameter of 95mm for easier use with matte boxes. They also have luminous glow-in-the-dark markings for operation in low-light conditions.

Moreover, true cine lens features include unified focus and aperture gear positions. This allows for easier follow focus use, tight color matching, dual calibrated right and left side distance and T-stop scales, and smooth movement of the geared focusing and aperture controls.
