Canon imagePrograf Pro large-format inkjet printers now include the 11-color plus chroma optimizer 44-inch Pro-4000 printer and 24-inch Pro-2000. Both are targeted at the fine art and photographic markets. The eight-color, 60-inch Pro-6000S and 44-inch Pro-4000S models are geared for creating posters and signage.
For photographers, the Pro-4000 and Pro-2000 are 11-color plus chroma optimizer printers built to complement Canon’s pro DSLRs not only in appearance but also in their ability to create high-res imagery. The printers are also marked by the Canon red line that’s found on EF L-series lenses.
Their Lucia Pro 11-color plus chroma optimizer ink system was developed for increased color gamut, reduced bronzing, improved scratch resistance, better clarity, gloss uniformity and shadow reproduction. It also produces increased black optical density.
Also, the printers have a wider printhead with anti-clogging technology. This results in improved efficiency plus reduced cleaning cycles and ink wastage. The printhead also permits a more compact printer.
Additionally, all models employ a calibration multi-sensor to help ensure color consistency from the first to last print. And a redesigned mechanical platform with a uniform, rigid frame reduces vibrations for more accurate ink ejection.
Furthermore, a multifunction roll system lets operators load glossy media in one roll and matte in the other. Other features are: a 3.5-inch, color touch LCD; USB drive print capabilities; mobile connectivity; and Wi-Fi.

Fujifilm Has Its Largest Presence at drupa 2016
Fujifilm occupied a nearly 22,000-square-foot booth in Hall 8b at drupa 2016. Additionally, it manned a smaller booth in Hall 1 to support its Heidelberg partnership. drupa was held in Dusseldorf, Germany, May 31 to June 10, 2016.
Consequently, under the slogan “Value from Innovation,” Fujifilm had its largest drupa presence ever. It showcased technologies and solutions that add value to print operations in five zones. In the wide-format zone was a range of solutions for wide- and superwide-format print production. Leading the mid-range portfolio was the Acuity F flatbed production printer, built to deliver high-quality prints at up to 1,668 square feet per hour. It is available in six or seven channel versions.
Another printer on display was the Acuity LED 1600 II roll-fed inkjet printer, which uses Fujifilm Dimatix printheads and Uvijet inks to produce a wide color gamut and smooth tonal gradations.
Additionally, the print applications zone showcased creative printed materials produced using Fujifilm solutions. ISAG Inks Distribution Agreement with ZBE Inc.
Imaging Solutions AG, Swiss manufacturer of systems to produce photo books and photo products, inked a distribution agreement with ZBE Inc. of Carpinteria, California. ISAG expanded its portfolio with Chromira digital photo printers, including the new flagship Chromira 5x ProLab.
The printer is engineered to print high photo quality on any RA4 process compatible materials, whether in small-format prints, large posters, canvas, book pages for lay-flat binding or book covers in small and large formats. Furthermore, it can print sizes ranging from 3×5 inches to 30 inches by 35 feet from one roll of 30-inch media.
Automated order management includes a nesting function to increase efficiency. Mixed format jobs are cut by the integrated XY sectional and automatically sorted, trayed and ready to bag.
