Chicago, IL—photokina, the leading international show for the photographic and imaging industry, becomes a yearly four-day event in 2020. Located at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany, photokina 2020 will be held May 27–30.
The previous photokina in 2018 combined 180,000 visitors from more than 100 countries, with 812 exhibitors. Moreover, show management expects similar numbers and many product innovations for the upcoming event. Moreover, photokina will occupy Halls 3, 4, 5 and 11 at the Koelnmesse.
The imaging show will continue to highlight the latest in technology by including the following major segments: cameras; lenses; digital imaging equipment; video technology; studio equipment and lighting; data storage; graphic design; photofinishing. and print. In addition, among the 800+ exhibitors, photokina expects 50 North American companies will showcase their newest photo, video and imaging products. Attendees will also have access to educational seminars and interactive sessions presented by professionals.
Product categories for photokina 2020 will include cameras, smartphones, VR/AR systems, camera accessories, long range optics, storage media, photo studio equipment, imaging software, minilabs and also kiosks. Online services as well as manufacturers of frames and albums, printing systems, scanners, video equipment and drones will also exhibit.

The show’s organizers also noted that major themes have evolved to include innovations in mobile imaging; imaging analytics; the digital workflow; and moving images. In fact, photokina attendees will have the chance to visit many interactive areas.
In addition, photokina will provide opportunities for small start-ups via the photokina Imaging Lab. In this area, start-ups, investors and scientists present and discuss new imaging applications.
