San Francisco, CA—This theme for the 2018 Visual 1st conference is Strategies for Success in Today’s Photo/Video Ecosystem: Creating, Leveraging and Monetizing the Building Blocks. The conference, formerly the Mobile Photo Connect conference, is slated to be this year’s premier education and partnering event for the photo and video industry, according to the organizers.

Visual 1st will be held at the Golden Gate Club Presidio in San Francisco, California, October 22–23, 2018. Its mission is to promote innovation as well as partnerships in the photo and video ecosystem. It will host executives and entrepreneurs at photo and video app development start-ups, mobile device vendors, carriers, cloud storage providers, software companies, print product providers, camera manufacturers as well as others in the imaging ecosystem.

The conference organizers announced the first fireside chat presenter: Omar Arambula, cofounder and COO of Munkee, makers of InstaSize. Arambula will talk about his company’s remarkable journey as well as share his vision for the future.

The InstaSize app was originally created for cropping photos to Instagram’s square image format. It had to reinvent itself in order to make its way back into the top rankings. The app now features a broad range of creative photo/video-editing and enhancement tools aimed at social influencers and SMBs. The 25-person team behind the app is on a roll, with 200M downloads to date and $1M of revenues per month.

•    Expanding Options for Image Capture: The Long Tail of Cameras
•    Monetizing Photos through Print: Winning Tactics in a Rapidly Evolving Environment

Moreover, this year the Visual 1st conference organizers wanted to give innovative app developers who have never presented at the conference a chance to take the first eight Show & Tell slots.

Reflective of the conference’s international orientation, these eight early admission app developers come from all over the world, including France, Singapore, Japan, Austria, Germany as well as the United States. They are Zyl, LuvPics, journi, Yours.co, moovin, muvee, InstaSize and ADVA soft.
