Samsung and Texas Instruments last week jointly announced the first-ever mobile phone to feature embedded projection capability. The phone, which will appear in Europe and Korea in the coming months, featuring Texas Instruments’ DLP Pico chipset.
"Working together, Samsung and Texas Instruments, DLP(R) products have made headway in a currently untapped market," Wonsik Lee, the Vice President of R&D for Samsung Electronics, said as part of the announcement. "This is an exciting time for the mobile phone industry as we transform the limitations of the mobile phone viewing experience to compelling image sizes that really adds significant value to both business and consumer users."
No North American release date has been announced.
