Minneapolis, MN—As part of Best Buy’s first-ever Facebook Check-in for Charity program, the CE retailer will donate $2 to Boys & Girls Club of America for every mobile Facebook check-in made by holiday shoppers between November 18 and November 27, 2011. Best Buy has committed to donating up to $250,000 to the nonprofit organization.

“At Best Buy, we believe that part of the holiday spirit is giving back to those around us,” said Brian J. Dunn, CEO of Best Buy. “That’s why this year we are offering our customers an easy way to support the Boys & Girls Club of America; simply check-in to Best Buy on Facebook when you visit one of our stores and we’ll donate $2.”

Best Buy is a long-time supporter of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, helping equip millions of youth with technology skills vital for academic and career success. “We are very excited about the opportunity for Best Buy customers to donate to Boys & Girls Club of America this holiday season,” said Roxanne Spillett, president and CEO of Boys & Girls Club of America. “Each Best Buy check-in helps us continue our commitment of providing safe, educational and fun places for young people in some 4,000 communities across the country.”

Boys & Girls Club of America consists of nearly 4,000 clubs, supporting and caring for approximately 4.1 million youth nationwide. The clubs provide safe places with entertaining and educational programming for youth during nonschool hours and over the summer.

This season, Best Buy’s Facebook page will provide fans with early access to more offers than ever before. For more information on how to donate, visit bestbuy.com/boysandgirlsclubs.
