Las Vegas, NV—Western Digital Corp. announced that Lori Sundberg has joined the company as chief human resources officer. Sundberg reports to Steve Milligan, the CEO of Western digital. She will lead key global human resources initiatives and people strategies to support Western Digital’s ongoing transformation as a leading data technology company.

“Lori is a proven HR leader with a strong background for developing talent in large organizations. We are excited to have her join our leadership team,” said Steve Milligan, chief executive officer, Western Digital. “She will focus on harnessing the strengths of our diverse, global teams to create an environment where our people as well as their careers can thrive.”

Sundberg succeeds Jackie DeMaria, who is retiring after a successful 13-year tenure with Western Digital. Moreover, Sundberg brings more than 20 years of experience in developing and aligning HR strategy with business needs. She most recently served as senior vice president of Global Human Resources at Jacobs. Jacobs is a global provider of technical, professional and construction services with more than 50,000 employees worldwide.

Earlier in her career, Sundberg advanced through a series of HR leadership roles at American Express. She also served as senior vice president, Human Resources and Ethics, at Arizona Public Services Company, the largest electric utility in Arizona.

Sundberg holds a bachelor of science degree in business management from Brigham Young University. She will be based at Western Digital’s global headquarters in San Jose, California.
