The International Photographic Council (IPC), a non-governmental organization (NGO) of the United Nations, has announced the recipients of its 11th annual IPC Professional Photographer Leadership Awards.

The winners will be recognized at the IPC International Professional Photographers Month luncheon at the United Nations in New York City on Thursday, May 7, at 11:30 a.m. Tony Cilento, Jr., Senior Vice President, Photographic Development, Lifetouch, Inc., will serve as keynote speaker at the luncheon.

The awards are presented each May, International Professional Photographer Month, by the International Photographic Council. Winners are selected by five professional photography organizations: Advertising Photographers of America (APA); American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP); Professional Photographers of America (PPA); Professional School Photographers Association International (PSPA); and White House News Photographers Association (WHNPA). Each organization selects one member who best represents the group’s criteria and ideals. 

The 2009 IPC Professional Photographer Leadership Award recipients are: Advertising Photographers of America (APA):Will Mosgrove; American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP): Richard Anderson;  Professional Photographers of America (PPA): Jack Reznicki; Professional School Photographers Association International (PSPA): Joe Mark; White House News Photographers Association (WHNPA): Mary Calvert.
