Maxell announced Monday that Don Patrican, an industry legend who was with the company for more than 10 years, will depart Maxell next month. According to a statement issued by the company Patrican, currently the vice president for branded sales, is leaving to “pursue other opportunities.”

In the statement dated Feb. 18, Maxell thanked Patrican for his contributions and added that he will remain with the company through March 31, in order to “ensure a smooth transition.”

Patrican was inducted into the Dealerscope Hall of Fame in 1999, and is a member of the Dealerscope Editorial Advisory Board. He was also interviewed, about the format war and other aspects of the future of the electronics business, in a cover story in the July 2007 issue of Dealerscope magazine. He also had long associations with both the Consumer Electronics Association and the Anti-Defamation League.
