Newell Rubbermaid Establishes New Unit

Newell Rubbermaid announced last month that it has established a new Global Business Unit for its technology operations, following the company’s recent purchase of PSI Systems, the company behind the Endicia Internet postage brand. The new unit will operate within the company’s Office Products Group.

Rubbermaid, the well-known maker of plastic kitchen and household products, was purchased by competitor Newell in 1999. The combined company also owns such brands as DYMO, CardScan, Mimio and Pelouze, all of which will be part of the new technology unit.

The move to establish the new unit, the company said, came because of “anticipated growth opportunities” in the small office and home office markets, which their tech products mostly serve.
