Jackson, MI—PMA announced that two member associations, the Professional School Photographers Association International (PSPA) and the Sports Photographers Association of America (SPAA), will hold their annual meetings at Bally’s Las Vegas, in Las Vegas, Nevada, January 6-7, 2013.

In 2012, nearly 400 attendees spent two full days attending sessions, luncheons and receptions. The show also included a vendor reception, which many members cited as a highlight.

“I am very excited about bringing PSPA together with other PMA groups to meet together in Las Vegas to learn and meet together,” said 2012-13 PSPA president Mike Bell, of Bell Photographers, Ogden, Utah.

SPAA committee members are enthusiastic as well with the announcement, heading into their 7th annual conference since joining as a member association of PMA. “This was one of the best conferences I have ever attended in my 18 years of PMA events . . . extending the networking times should get a round of applause,” said Tom Hayes, president, Visual Image Photography Inc. “We observed our attendees truly understand that relationships, new camaraderie and ‘hallway’ time are at least as educational as class time.”

With the announcement, both conferences return to their customary placement, prior to the PMA@CES convention and trade show. The PSPA-SPAA conference programming will coincide with the Digital Imaging Marketing Association (DIMA) conference, also held at Bally’s Las Vegas in 2013.

“With the vast changes in the industry, PMA is bringing the industry together at CES to highlight the opportunities in photo-imaging,” commented Jim Esp, executive director, PMA. “From capture to processing to output to display, PMA and its member associations provide the imaging industry with the networking and education necessary to spur growth.” pmai.org
