Arlington, VA—The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) was named as one of the 2015 Best Places to Work in Virginia by Virginia Business and Best Companies Group. This is the fifth consecutive year that CEA has been honored by the program, which recognizes the 100 best places of employment in Virginia, in terms of benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce and businesses.

“We are honored to receive recognition as one of the best places to work in Virginia for the fifth year in a row,” said Gary Shapiro, CEA president and CEO. “At CEA, we are dedicated to providing our staff with family-friendly programs, policies and benefits that promote a healthy balance between work and home life.

“More, we work each year to maintain a work environment that helps keep our staff happy, healthy and motivated. This commitment helps us attract the best and brightest in pursuit of our shared mission to help drive growth across the consumer electronics industry.”

CEA provides innovative and supportive family-friendly benefits, including: a mortgage assistance program, offering a $25,000 unsecured, forgivable loan to apply toward a down payment of a primary residence within a five mile radius of CEA’s headquarters in Arlington, Virginia; a tuition assistance program that gives employees up to 75% reimbursement on college or university expenses, up to a maximum of $5,250 annually; and an instructor-led boot camp, strength training and yoga classes, as well as access to a 24/7 on-site gym at no cost to CEA employees.

In addition, CEA’s summer hours program allows employees to work extra hours Monday through Thursday from Memorial Day through Labor Day, in return for leaving the office at 1 p.m. on Fridays. Plus flexible work arrangements include the opportunity to telecommute one day a week, and depending on length of service, employees are eligible for two or four weeks of paid leave upon the birth or adoption of a child.

Other benefits include broadband reimbursement where full-time employees are eligible for 50% broadband reimbursement up to $500 each calendar year. CEA also matches employee contributions to charitable causes dollar for dollar up to $500 annually based on years of service. ce.org
