Company Will Continue to Offer Perfectly Clear

San Francisco, CA—An imaging company with financial venture backing, EyeQ announced its acquisition of Athentech Imaging Inc. Athentech is a leading photo correction solution company.

The company will maintain all of Athentech’s current business as well as continue to offer its signature Perfectly Clear technology, products and services. Moreover, it will bolster its investment in workflow solutions and new technology. These will include artificial intelligence.

Athentech’s multi-patented solutions are the “secret weapon” millions of photographers, consumers as well as printers service providers around the world use. Its applications automatically correct 11 billion photos each year.

Furthermore, the EyeQ team is comprised of color scientists, physicists and engineers. In addition, it is now joined by imaging industry veteran Eran Steinberg as chairman of the board.

EyeQ Leadership

EyeQ’s executive team includes Brad Malcolm, as CEO and president. Malcolm is a seasoned Athentech business executive. Jeff Stephens joins Malcolm as EyeQ’s chief technology officer. Stephens has more than 15 years of engineering leadership experience in digital imaging. Moreover, he was previously president of Bibble Labs.

In addition, Ziv Gillat is the company’s chief revenue officer. Gillat is an imaging expert with 15+ years of expertise. Moreover, he was the cofounder of Eyefi.

Rounding out the team is Steinberg, chairman of the board. Steinberg is also an image scientist. In addition, he is the founder and orchestrator of several exits of imaging companies, including FotoNation. Moreover, as an inventor he holds 300 granted patents.

EyeQ Debuts Cloud-based API

To make Photo Perfection available to everyone, a Web API launched as the first in a series of innovations under the EyeQ umbrella. It is available now to offer a more accessible cloud-based entry point to the patented technology available in the company’s latest SDK. As a result, users have access in a matter of minutes, without any integration required.
