Melville, NY—Canon USA returned as the presenting sponsor of the 47th annual Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, which took place October 6–14, 2018.
The sponsorship solidified Canon’s commitment to engaging and educating visitors at the festival through 2020. In addition, it strengthens Canon’s support for the city of Albuquerque, which the company houses one of its two U.S. customer support centers.

The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is one of the most photographed events in the world. It consist of more than 500 hot air and gas balloons across 78-acres at Balloon Fiesta Park.
The theme of this year’s fiesta, Get Carried Away, was enlivened at Canon’s booth. It hosted a variety of hands-on activities within its booth. The Canon booth was in the center of Main Street. Attendees also had the opportunity to test and try a wide array of Canon products. These included the company’s new full-frame mirrorless EOS R camera and latest lenses.

Additionally, visitors took photos with the Canon hot air balloon basket photo prop. They could also have the photos printed on a Pixma TS8220 printer as well as share them to social media on-site via their mobile device.
They also engaged with Canon street team members who walked throughout Balloon Fiesta Park. Canon team members took photos and printed them on-the-spot with the new Ivy mini photo printer.
Further, in addition to printing their photos on Canon Pixma TS8220, Selphy CP1300 and Ivy mini photo printers, visitors also learned how to create a Canon hdAlbum. They were also able to sign up for photo walks provided by Canon’s photography experts.
Moreover, fiesta visitors spoke with Canon experts to get advice on capturing once-in-a-lifetime photos and videos. In addition, free camera and lens cleanings and checks were available from Canon’s expert Service and Support team.
