CTA Unveils 2018 CES Ambassador

Arlington, VA—The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) revealed that former NBA superstar, and now full-time investor and entrepreneur, Baron Davis will be the CES Ambassador for 2018. CES, owned and produced by CTA, will run January 9–12, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“We are thrilled to welcome Baron Davis to CES as our 2018 ambassador,” said Karen Chupka, senior vice president, CES and corporate business strategy, CTA. “Baron has been an innovator on and off the court. He is representative of the entrepreneurial spirit that thrives at CES. In addition, he is the perfect partner as we expand CES Sports Zone.”

Baron Davis is a two-time NBA all-star and record holder. Over a 13-year career, he played for the Charlotte Hornets, the Golden State Warriors, the Los Angeles Clippers, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the New York Knicks.

Davis is now a full-time entrepreneur, investor and businessman under his Baron Davis Enterprises (BDE) banner. An original investor in Vitaminwater, he is the creator of several companies. These include SLIC (Sports and Lifestyle in Culture), No Label and UNIFD as well as Black Santa. Each of the companies has the objective of combining creative talent with original publication, production as well as merchandise. Moreover, the goal is to develop and provide engaging stories that appeal to global audiences.

Even during my playing days, I worked to invest in and build new businesses in the media and technology worlds. Now, as a full-time entrepreneur and investor, I’m excited to see everything CES has to offer.”

Role of CES Ambassador

As CES Ambassador, Davis will help give Hollywood and the sporting world a view of technologies that will influence their industries. This will be accomplished through experiences in C Space as well as the new CES Sports Zone.
