According to The NPD Group’s 2011 Online Household Penetration Survey, overall digital camera ownership appears to have reached saturation. While households with children are more likely to have more than one point-and-shoot camera, overall ownership is down year on year, and the number of cameras per household is flat.
Detachable- or interchangeable-lens cameras continue to be a bright spot in the camera market, experiencing a healthy lift in 2011.
