Los Angeles, CA—Stand-up comedian Michael Kosta will host this year’s gala Lucie Awards presentation on Sunday, October 29, 2017. The event will be held at Zankel Hall within Carnegie Hall, in New York CIty.

Kosta is a senior correspondent on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah on Comedy Central. He was also the host and co-executive producer of The Comment Section on the E! Network. In addition, Kosta was a cohost on Fox Sports 1’s, Crowd Goes Wild.

Kosta gained attention as a comedian when he broke out of the HBO Comedy and Arts Festival in Aspen. He made regular appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Chelsea Lately. He also performed on Conan, @midnight as well as Late Night with Seth Meyers. Kosta has also appeared at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal as well as his own comedy special, Comedy Central Presents: Michael Kosta.

He can also be seen on Comedy Central’s Snapchat series, Worst Birthday, which is based on his successful podcast. In addition, Kosta is the star and creator of the web series Sports. Kosta. Basement.

The Lucie Awards

The Lucie Awards celebrate photography’s greatest achievements. Presented by the Lucie Foundation, the awards will recognize this year’s honorees as well as the talented winners from the 2017 International Photography Awards (IPA) juried competition. IPA is the foundation’s sister effort. Moreover, this year, awards presented will include Lucie honorees, IPA prizes, Support Category Awards and a special tribute to those in the industry who have passed on.

Lucie-TrophyThe 2017 honorees, who will join the distinguished group of 115 prior photographers, are: Larry Fink for Achievement in Documentary; Dominique Issermann for Achievement in Fashion; Abelardo Morell for Achievement in Fine Art; Judith Joy Ross for Achievement in Portraiture; Steve Schapiro for Achievement in Photojournalism; Art Shay as the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award; and also the Josephine Herrick Project as the recipient of the Humanitarian Award.
