Consumer confidence, after bottoming out in recent months, has begun to rebound, according to the CEA-CNET Consumer Sentiment Indexes, although confidence in CE has remained sluggish.

The index for the overall economy has reached 173.1, a seven-point jump from last month, to its highest level since February 2008. However, the CEA-CNET Index of Consumer Technology Expectations has dropped to 67.2, its fourth consecutive slide.

“Consumers are feeling more confident and their overall expectations for the health of the economy are beginning to improve,” CEA’s economist and director of research Shawn DuBravac said as part of the announcement. “Americans continue to worry about their own job security but are feeling more confident that the economy will improve in the coming months.”
