Los Angeles, CA—Finalists in the 5th Lucie Technical Awards were named. The Lucie Foundation will reveal the winners in each category at a ceremony on October 24, 2019 during PhotoPlus 2019 Conference + Expo.
A 5:30 p.m. reception will proceed the awards presentations at 6 p.m., in the Adobe Theater at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City. Free RSVP here: lucies.org/lucie-events/
The annual awards are presented by the Lucie Foundation. In addition, they are a sister program of the Lucie Awards. These technical awards honor the most innovative products from the past year as well as the innovators who have shaped the industry.
The Lucie Technical Awards honor both the large and small companies, as well as the individuals who have advanced the photographic industry in a given year. All-inclusive, the awards encompass cameras, lenses, lighting, accessories and software.
Experts in the field of photography as well as members of the public contribute to the nomination process. All those nominated share a passion for creating extraordinary imagery through innovative technology. The nominations are selected with the advice and guidance of the Lucie Technical Awards (LTA) advisory board. Moreover, the board is responsible for determining the winners.
5th Lucie Technical Awards
“For the past four years, the Lucie Technical Awards proudly honored the highest achievements in this fast-changing world of technology; this year is no exception. Both professional photographers and consumers are taking more pictures than at any time in history. They are seeking the best solutions to elevate their craft and rely on industry experts to guide them in their purchases,” said Lori Reale, director of Sales and Marketing, Lucie Foundation.
“The esteemed LTA board members aim to pay tribute to the hardworking engineers and manufacturers who contribute to taking all of our images to the next level. We are excited to have two new categories this year: the Camera of the Year and Achievement in Technological Innovation Award. In addition, the Chuck Westfall Award once again will honor one of our industry’s finest influencers and educators. t will be an evening of great inspiration for our photography community,” Reale added.
