When your child water-skis for the first time, don’t leave it to a smartphone’s optics to capture the memory. Sigma’s long-range zoom lens excels in fast-action capture, and with its dust- and splashproof body and water-repellent coatings, you can take it anywhere. Plus its updated optical stabilizer (OS) will help get you incredibly sharp photos.

Built for the most demanding types of photography, the Sigma 150–600mm Sports lens is designed to set a new standard for telephoto zooms. Boasting two FLD glass elements with performance equal to fluorite and three SLD (special low dispersion) glass elements to control distortion, it is engineered to produce incredibly sharp images with high contrast through its entire zoom range.

It features a hypersonic motor (HSM) for fast, quiet autofocus, and its OS system has an accelerometer to reduce the effects of camera shake and allow smoother panning, both horizontally and vertically—perfect for birding, wildlife and sports photography.

Built into the lens barrel are two switches: one zoom lock switch that holds the lens at any focal length, and a manual focus override (MO) switch for when you want more precise control. The new MO switch is activated by simply rotating the focus ring while using autofocus.

The lens also has a minimum focus distance of 102.4 inches, a rotatable tripod collar, and nine rounded diaphragm blades to produce pleasing out-of-focus elements in your photos.

As with all Sigma Sports lenses, the 150–600mm works with the Sigma USB dock for maximum customization, allowing for firmware updates and adjustments to the focus limiter, autofocus speed and OS view.

Compatible with Sigma’s Mount Conversion service, the lens comes with a case, lens hood and shoulder strap. MSRP: $1,999. sigmaphoto.com
