Grand Rapids, MI—X-Rite and subsidiary Pantone announced the upcoming i1Profiler update for i1Display Pro and i1Pro 2 solutions. The update will give photographers and filmmakers support for field displays, recorders, laptops and monitors using high-dpi 4K+ resolution. This capability is also included in X-Rite’s new i1Filmmaker kit. X-Rite is a leader in color science and technology.
X-Rite i1Display Pro, i1Pro 2 and also X-Rite ColorChecker Video targets are on display at the 2017 NAB Show. NAB is being held in Las Vegas, Nevada, April 24–27. They are being demoed at the Atomos (C8925/C9425) as well as B&H Photo/Video (C10916/C3056DP) booths.
The update to 4K+ resolution support represents X-Rite’s commitment to stay current with evolving technologies, the company announced. The latest i1Profiler software already includes Rec-709, Rec-2020 and DCI-P3 support. Now it also offers filmmakers “true color image representation, on-screen and on/off set.”
X-Rite i1Filmmaker Kit
X-Rite’s newest i1Filmmaker kit is a combination of i1Display Pro and ColorChecker Passport Video. It’s designed to reduce editing time for filmmakers, achieve multiple camera matching and improve color balance for faster consistently balanced color workflow.
The i1Display Pro calibration device and software are engineered to provide color precision, speed and control for high levels of on-screen color accuracy. This includes for mobile devices as well as projectors. ColorChecker Passport Video is a pocket-size target kit created to quickly get users a worry-free, color balanced and consistently neutral place with ideal camera exposure.
