Melville, NY—Canon launched its Océ ColorWave 3000 series of large-format color printers. The next-generation Océ ColorWave 3500 and 3700 printers, based on 10 years of customer use, are built for hassle-free operation as well as the ability to handle a range of large-format applications.

Moreover, the Océ ColorWave 3000 series incorporates patented technologies that help walk-up users save time and costs while increasing productivity, Canon announced. “The landscape of print is constantly changing as the needs of our customers evolve,” said Shinichi Yoshida, executive vice president and general manager, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon USA. “The Océ ColorWave 3000 series was designed to provide a versatile solution for large-format users to produce all of their applications, both the ones that they require today and those that they hope to produce tomorrow as they look to grow their business.”

Océ ColorWave 3000 Features

The Océ ColorWave 3000 offers “green-button printing.” User training and operational requirements are reduced with the Océ print assistant. This feature automatically suggests the right print mode for the job based on the file content. In addition, it detects media requirements and enables the printer to automatically switch to the right roll.

Scanning was also simplified. Océ Image Logic technology turns imperfect originals into near-perfect copies and scans through advanced image enhancement—without user intervention. The software as well as user interface help operators manage jobs with features that help avoid misprints and delays.

Furthermore, the Océ ColorWave 3000 series offers multi-pass printing technology. Its Océ CrystalPoint printing technology also means instant-dry prints with no feathering on a variety of media types. It can handle media from uncoated bond to vinyl.

In addition, the printing process emits virtually no fine dust, ozone or odor, and the Océ TonerPearls are nontoxic. Prints are also water resistant. Moreover, Océ Paint technology provides nozzle failure compensation on the fly.

“With the Océ ColorWave 3000 series, customers invest in a solution that meets their printing needs for today and the future. Whether their focus remains on CAD documents or is shifting toward graphic arts; printing B&W or color; or printing a wealth of applications: this print engine can confidently meet their high requirements,” the company added.

The Océ ColorWave 3000 series comes in two models. The Océ ColorWave 3500 is for walk-up printing environments demanding ease of use. In addtion, the Océ ColorWave 3700 is for customers requiring higher media capacity and versatility.
