Port Washington, NY—While the point-and-shoot, P&S, digital camera market continues to decline, the growth of premium devices is having an impact on the wider market overall. Consumers age 25 to 34 accounted for 30% of sales revenue in the 12 months ending April 2017. This figure is up from 19% a year prior. These figures come from the NPD Group’s Consumer Tracking Service.

Consumers 25 to 34 are a coveted demographic for imaging companies. This data does not suggest sales are up among any group. However, a wide selection of compelling, premium point-and-shoot camera products is contributing to the 25 to 34 demographic group’s rise in spending share.
