Sony is a leading manufacturer of video, imaging, audio, game, communications, key device and information technology products for both the consumer and professional markets.

The agreement is part of a move to consolidate both companies’ position as the innovation leaders in their respective sectors. The collaboration was announced in conjunction with the Gitzo 100-year anniversary event in Tokyo. Gitzo is part of the Vitec Photographic brand family.

In addition, this new partnership comes shortly after the Vitec Group announced it acquired and is folding the JOBY and Lowepro imaging brands into its Photographic Division’s portfolio.

“We are proud to announce the agreement with Sony,” commented Marco Pezzana, CEO, Vitec Group, Photographic Division. “This collaboration sees our brands, Manfrotto and Gitzo, leaders in the market of photo and video accessories, working side by side with the prestigious Sony brand, globally renowned for product excellence and superior technology. The primary intent of collaborating is for the development of even more innovative products for professional content creators, thus further increasing customer satisfaction and future business growth.”
