Petaluma, CA—Lowepro is celebrating its 50th anniversary this summer. The company is marking its five decades with a series of special events designed to allow its fans to participate in the celebration. The events include hosted global photo walks on July 15, 2017 as well as eight sweepstakes opportunities. The prize packages are designed for the needs of today’s content creators.

Lowepro was established in 1967 when mountaineer, photographer and filmmaker Greg Lowe needed a solution to protect his camera and cinematography equipment from the hazards of climbing. Lowe developed the internal frame-backpack as well as the first lightweight, foam-padded nylon cases in his garage in Colorado.

The company offers several new lines for device-savvy digital consumers. The gear includes packs for the urban commuter and also the drone enthusiast. Moreover, Lowepro continues to look forward by addressing the needs of photographers, content creators, and a new generation of digital storytellers.

“Lowepro has always focused on helping creative individuals pursue their passions by making it easier for them to practice their craft through innovative and practical product design,” said Tim Grimmer, vice president of brand and product for DayMen, Lowepro’s holding company. “For the last 50 years, we have offered designs ahead of the pack to accommodate the latest innovations in photography. Now, more than ever, we want this new generation of creative fans to embark on adventure with us.”

The company’s inside-out design approach continues to serve both customers and the organization by providing solutions designed for practicality as well as comfort. The customizable solutions are marketed to an ever-evolving new generation of content creators and digital ambassadors. These consumers include users of everything from smartphones and tablets to action cameras, drones, mirrorless cameras and DSLR kits.

Furthermore, each of the special anniversary activities reflect Lowepro’s mission to create advanced products that eliminate boundaries and give people the freedom to go where they want to go with the gear of their choice, add Grimmer.

In addition, Lowepro teamed up with other creative industry leaders to kick off a series of sweepstakes to fans. Each will last up to two weeks, and they will continue through October. The giveaways feature gifts from both Lowepro and partners to provide collections of gear for various different content creators.
