When introduced to the concept of a mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera, females were more likely than males to be interested in purchasing one. But when the price point reaches $500, that interest declined more dramatically among women than among men. And overall, men were more interested than they were in 2010.

While women were interested in high-quality images, performance, speed and a compact size, they weren’t as willing to shell out for it as men, who were more intrigued by advanced features and interchangeable lenses.—Liz Cutting, Executive Director, Senior Imaging Analyst, The NPD Group. npd.com
