Cameraphones Accessories : Belkin Debuts LiveAction Camera Accessories & App to Instantly Capture and Share PhotosNovember 16, 2011
The LiveAction accessories were developed to help consumers experience a better way to snap photos and record video and immediately share the digital content with the new LiveAction app.
“With upgraded cameras, new phones like the iPhone 4S take great pictures and are beginning to replace traditional cameras because they provide instant gratification—the ability to shoot and share via social media instantly,” said Jamie Elgie, senior director of Belkin’s mobility division. “Our new LiveAction camera app and products enable that spontaneity but also provide an enhanced camera experience that feels more like that of a traditional point-and-shoot camera. It’s the best of both worlds.”
The free LiveAction app features an intuitive on-screen interface to upload high-quality photos and videos directly onto Facebook or into an e-mail without having to open another program. The app also allows users to capture still photos while simultaneously recording video of the same content so they don’t miss a single moment. Separate photo and video buttons make it easy to switch modes on-screen. In addition to working in conjunction with Belkin’s LiveAction camera products, the LiveAction app can also be used alone as the primary camera app for the iPhone and iPod touch.
LiveAction Camera Grip, F8Z888. With a contoured, soft-touch design and external fast-fire shutter button, the grip is engineered to transform an iPhone or iPod touch into a traditional digital camera to allow users to take pictures quickly and comfortably. It attaches to the charge connector of the device with a 30-pin connector and fits over most cases. The integrated tripod mount attaches to any standard tripod for more stabilized control. Separate buttons for photo and video allow the photographer to switch from taking stills to recording action. The LiveAction grip requires the use of the LiveAction app. Attaching the grip immediately activates the app. It’s compatible with iPhone 4/4S and iPod touch. $49.99.
LiveAction Camera Remote, F8Z896. The remote was designed to eliminate the occurrence of having to leave someone out of a wide group shot taken with a cameraphone. It intuitively and wirelessly activates an iPhone or iPod touch camera shutter from 30 feet away via Bluetooth, and its two button controls switch between photo and video functions. The detachable camera stand props up the device and then slides back onto the remote to create a pocket-size camera kit. It, too, requires the LiveAction app. $49.99.
